Eftersom vi reste över datumlinjen så färdades vi bakåt i tiden när vi åkte från Nya Zeeland till Honolulu, Hawaii.

Rejält dessutom, eftersom vi lyfte den 23 januari klockan 00:30 – och landade den 22 januari klockan 10:30 på förmiddagen. 

En märklig känsla att uppleva samma datum två gånger, i två olika länder & världsdelar.

Såhär spenderade vi den 22 januari 2017:

8:00, Pukekawa, Nya Zeeland.


Vaknar upp i vårt lilla hostel-rum på Shekinah farmstay, som drivs av de två härliga kvinnorna Penny och Anita hemma hos dem. Vi bodde här även tre nätter strax efter nyår och trivdes så bra att vi ville återvända för en sista natt. Så ljuvlig vy från vår veranda!! Vi äter frukost, packar och Milo och Jack hjälper till att släppa ut hundarna och mata fåren.

Vi äter en nudellunch i Penny och Anitas kök och säger sen farväl för denna gång.

Vi har landat efter en natts flygning. Allt går jättesmidigt, och vi är snart vid vårt hotell vid Waikiki, Honolulu. Rummet är inte klart så vi går ut och äter lunch – pizzan Hawaii…- på en riktig filmamerikansk diner.

Vi spenderar några timmar i botaniska trädgården. Fint ställe, bra beläget nära flygplatsen och perfekt för att springa ur energi ur små barnben.

Patrik ger sig iväg för att lämna tillbaka vår kära hyrbil, och jag och barnen hänger i avgångshallen i väntan på att incheckningen ska öppna.

Patrik googlar fram en restaurang som visar sig ha toppengod Hawaiiansk mat. Jack testar en Pork Lau Lau Plate (kött som långkokats inuti ett speciellt löv) och blir jättenöjd. Vi andra kör burgare resp Spicy Aki Poke Bowl med rå tonfisk och ris.
