Vår tredje dag här tog vi cyklarna över till grannön Don Det, det är jättenära mellan dessa två, bara en bro emellan. Don Det är den mest populära backpackerön, med många mycket enkla guesthouses och bungalows, barer, rastaflätor, och total laid back-stämning.
Men vårt första möte blev inte med några backpackers, utan med en ansenlig mängd ”vattenbufflor” (som Milo säger) och vi stannade vid strandkanten för att titta på dem. Allt var frid och fröjd till en början, jag tog bilder, vi tittade på de små kalvarna (eller vad små vattenbufflar nu kallas) och hade en lugn stund. Tills alla bufflarna plötsligt, som på en given signal, bestämde sig för att gå mot strandkanten där vi stod.
Hela hopen avancerade framåt mot oss i rask takt. Patrik och Jack var snabbast iväg på sin cykel, medan jag och Milo tog lite längre tid på oss.
”En miljon vattenbufflor kommer!” hojtade Milo, och jag måste erkänna att jag var en aning spak innan vi tillslut var på cykeln och kunde dra iväg medan flocken tog sig upp på vägen bakom oss…
Men oj vad vi har skrattat åt detta i efterhand. Ännu en ny upplevelse här i livet…
