Hej Jack!
Det är faktiskt svårt att förstå att du bara fyller sju år idag. Det känns som att vi har haft dig hos oss mycket längre, som att du alltid har varit här med alla dina klokheter, alla dina tankar och alla dina ord.

Du har så många, många ord. Från det du vaknar tills dess du något motvilligt låter ögonen blunda på kvällen. Så många, många ord, och så många frågor. Så många resonemang och åsikter.

Jag tänker ibland, att hur ska vi ta hand om allt som är du på rätt sätt. Du känns ofta så stor, så klok, så… ja… stor. Men såklart så är du ju liten också, och det är ju viktigt att se även det.

Något som jag är så lycklig över just nu är att vi gett oss själva all den här tiden som vår jorden runt-resa innebär. Vi har tiden att lyssna.
Det är vi som får höra alla orden, från morgon till kväll. Det är vi som pratar med dig om stjärnor och planeter, om andra världskriget, om vem som bestämmer i Sverige, om fotbollsspelare, surfing, kompisar, om alla dina framtidsplaner, alla ställen du vill se, alla platser du vill återvända till.
Vi pratar om Gud och religioner. Buddha, Allah och orättvisor.
Du bekymrar dig över Sverigedemokraterna och USA:s nya president. Förstår inte varför krig finns och absolut inte hur man kan tycka illa om någon för att den tror på något annat än Jesus och har mörkt hår.

Vi googlar vilka tio länder som är störst i världen, först när det gäller ytan, sen befolkningen. Vi tittar på kartor och du ställer nya frågor, och vi svarar efter bästa förmåga.
Och vi kan göra det för att vi har tid.
Det kommer jag alltid att vara tacksam över, att den här resan gav mig så många fler av alla dina ord, tankar och frågor än jag hade fått om vi aldrig hade åkt.

Du älskar din storebror så innerligt mycket. Jag vet att det kan låta lite för bra för att vara sant, men ni bråkar faktiskt aldrig och ni bryr er så vansinnigt mycket om varandra och saknar varann om ni spenderar en halvtimme på olika håll.
Ibland tänker jag på det också, hur det ska bli när vi kommer hem. När ni inte längre kommer leva såhär tätt inpå varandra alla dagar och alla nätter, hela tiden.
Men det får vi ta då.

Just här och just nu är det ni två. Jämt.
Vi fyra. Jämt.

Om jag skulle skriva ner hur mycket du kan äta om möjligheten finns, så skulle nog många tro att jag överdrev. Gjorde mig till litegrann.
Men ingen älskar buffé så mycket som du, och din bror. När ni får äta hur mycket ni vill, och prova en massa nytt.
Barnportioner är inget vi sysslar med i vår familj. Här är det ni som äter mest, måltid efter måltid.

Som dina ögon lyste när vi igår berättade att vi ska äta födelsedagsbrunch på hotellet idag.
Och det är också en sak som är så fantastisk med dig.
Du är så tacksam över det du får. Så alldeles lycklig och glad för alla våra upplevelser.
Du tackar och kramar och jublar, och kramar igen.

Du älskar att spela fotboll, läsa böcker, att spela in filmer till era tv-program, och att vara med på foton. Du älskar att sjunga, så fort du inte pratar så sjunger du istället.
Och överallt ler människor som du möter, för att de hör dig sjunga och/eller ser dig dansa när du passerar dem.

Ditt minne är så skarpt och alldeles förbluffande. Så ofta som du förvånar oss med exakta minnesbilder från tidigare resor och händelser som vi aldrig pratat om sen dess, och som heller inte finns på något foto.
Hur kan det få plats så mycket? Hur kan du minnas så många detaljer, så många samtal, så många nyanser?

Vår lilla stora speciella pojke.
Du gör våra dagar så intensiva, så fyllda av ord, sång, frågor och dans, och ibland gör du oss i ärlighetens namn också lite utmattade.
Men allra mest så gör du vår resa – både den vi är på nu och hela vår livsresa – så mycket färgstarkare, så mycket klarare, vackrare och roligare.

Nu har vi vaknat upp till den 2 februari i Las Vegas. Du fyller sju år idag, och du har väntat och längtat. Inte efter presenter, för du frågar aldrig efter materiella saker. Men du ser så fram emot att vi ska äta brunch, och så småningom byta om till finkläder och finfrisyr och ge oss ut på stan här i Las Vegas.

Du älskar att fira. Både dig själv och andra.
Och vi älskar att vi får fira med dig.

Nu gör vi Las Vegas ihop, och det kommer att bli en fantastisk dag och kväll.
