Det finns naturligtvis billigare alternativ än hotell om man ska semestra, men ibland är det ju både himla smidigt och gôtt att bo på hotell en natt eller två.
Vi har länge varit lite svaga för Scandics väghotell, det vill säga oftast inte de flådigaste och finaste med bästa läget inne i citykärnan, utan av lite enklare budgetstil som ligger typ vid infarten till en stad.
Men! Just som ett en-natts-stopp har vi upptäckt att vi ofta gilla dessa bättre än dyrare varianter. Det finns ofta pool på dessa hotell, återigen inget flådigt, men det spelar ju inte barnen så stor roll. Bara dom får bada så är dom nöjda!
Det finns lekrum/lekhörna i restaurangerna, och det brukar vara bra familjerum. Ibland är det barnbuffé och annars en helt okej barnmeny.
Stor fördel: oftast flera hundralappar billigare än ”finhotellen” i stan. Vi har kunnat bo för runt 600 – 800 kronor, och med tanke på att man får frukostbuffé i det så brukar det kännas prisvärt o bra.
Vår favorit: Scandic Klarälven i Karlstad, som dessutom urskiljer sig lite från liknande hotell eftersom det ligger jättefint med utsikt mot Klarälven. Promenadavstånd till city längs älven.
Det händer att vi bokar in en natt här bara för att komma hemifrån och få lite koncentrerad familjetid ihop.
