Hej Panama City!
Ja, så blev det dags för några dagars storstadsliv igen, och vi kan börja konstatera att vi har våra små ”rutiner” även när det gäller storstadshänget.
Till att börja med tycks vi ha en vana att bo ganska fint, med våra mått mätt. Vanligt hotell istället för hostel, och gärna i klassen ”något över medel”.
Eftersom storstadsdagarna ofta (som nu) infaller före och/eller efter något mer lite avlägset ställe, kanske med flera resdagar, nattflyg eller liknande grejer. Och då är det rätt skönt att ha några dagar när man vet att man har varmvatten i duschen, ja att det finns en fungerande dusch över huvud taget… Och att det är torrt inne på rummet! (i hög luftfuktighet är det ibland helt omöjligt att få kläderna torra)
Viktigt är också att läget är bra, helst nära kollektivtrafik.
Denna gång bor vi på Principe Hotel på Via Argentina. Ett typiskt mitt emellan-hotell i Panama city, som nog inte kommer att sätta några bestående avtryck men som fyller sin funktion.
Idag hade vi dessutom nytta av riktigt bra wifi, eftersom vi gjorde en livesändning på Expressen/Allt om Resors Facebooksida! (Det var kul, och går att se i efterhand här)
Och när vi väl är på plats – ja då gör vi stan.
Vi kör sevärdheter och gärna museum, men absolut inte allt som finns. Men idag spenderade vi ett antal timmar i gamla stan Casco Viejo, där vi bland annat besökte fina kyrkan Iglesia del San Francisco de Asis.
Tänder ljus för älskade farfar Lars. Något vi också alltid gör när vi besöker kyrkor på våra resor.

Sen uträttar vi ärenden och shoppar. Ja, i alla fall när det är som nu – att vi planerar att sända hem saker. Imorgon ska vi till posten med ett paket, och hoppas det ska gå att lösa att få hem det till Sverige… Det är både kläder och saker vi inte vill släpa på under sista delen av resan, och lite nytt åt framför allt Milo och Jack att ha när de kommer hem.
Vi ägnar nästan osannolikt mycket tid åt att leta efter och titta på fotbollströjor av olika slag, eftersom vår yngsta son är besatt av dessa plagg. Och jag kan säga att detta var den mest oväntade tröja vi såg idag! Dessutom den enda landslagströja de hade i den här affären. Mycket märkligt!
När man går nästan 1,5 mil på en dag i Panama City i tryckande värme är glass nästan ett måste.
Stort shoppingcenter hör också alltid till, och food court!
Sen handlar vi. Framför allt det vi ”samlat ihop” på vår inköpslista, som denna gång till exempel ny solskyddströja till Jack, solkräm spf 50, tandkräm, barntandborstar, balsam, flipflops till Patrik… Ja, ni hör, inga världsomvälvande grejer men sånt där som vi behöver ha.
Milo fyller också år om några veckor så blev några småsaker till honom också.
Plus att vi denna gång också handlade för att skicka hem, och då är det uteslutande tok-billighetsshopping vi ägnar oss åt. En storlek för stort för barnen nu, och så skickar vi hem så det ligger där och väntar till sommaren! (om det nu hittar hem förstås… men vi hoppas på det 🙂 )
Under våra dagar i Panama City har vi också besökt Panamakanalen och slussarna i Miraflores. Det kändes som ett måste för oss, och det ska vi berätta mer om snart!
Men nu säger vi godnatt för idag, och försöker ladda för vår allra sista dag i Centralamerika. För den här gången.
