Vi bodde några dagar på ett riktigt trist ställe i Taupo, ett fult & slitet motel. Men. Vi träffade i alla fall på en del trevliga människor på stället, och bland annat en man som sa att det fanns ett outstanding ställe om man ville uppleva Nya Zeelands bästa gratisaktivitet.

Detta ställe hade vi redan spanat på, och blev nu ännu mer bestämda att vi såklart skulle dit, eftersom vi ändå skulle till Gisborne på östkusten (mer om varför vi är just här inom kort)
Sagt och gjort. Vi tog bilen ungefär fyra mil, och kom fram till Rere Falls och Rere Rock slide.
Barnen tog sina body boards, som de fick i julklapp, och kastade sig ut direkt. Och de var fast på en gång.
Vi blev kvar här i nästan fem timmar. Jag vet inte hur många åk barnen åkte. Upp och ner längs den långa naturliga vattenrutschbanan, och så himla lyckliga och glada!
Det var så roligt att se dem!
Och för oss som inte har möjlighet att lägga dyra pengar på aktiviteter här på Nya Zeeland så var detta en total jackpot. Galet kul, vackert, gratis och skapat av naturen själv.
Det blev picknick på plats, och sen mera åk. Och ännu mera.
