Detta är en av de svåraste utmaningarna i vår Jorden runt-planering – att försöka skaffa sig nån slags uppfattning om vad vår Jorden runt-resa kommer att kosta.
När det gäller flygresor har vi hittills bokat fram till Nya Zeeland. Detta gör vi på egen hand, flight för flight, med en salig blandning av flygbolag. Det tar tiiiid, men det går verkligen att komma ner i pris om man lägger ner den där tiden… De bokade rutterna är:
• Arlanda – Dubai
• Dubai – Colombo, Sri Lanka
• Sri Lanka – Kota Bahru, Malaysia (Perhentian islands)
• Kota Bahru – Kuala Lumpur
• Kuala Lumpur – Bali
• Bali – Flores (annan indonesisk ö)
• Flores – Bali
• Bali – Auckland, Nya Zeeland.
Jag räknade ihop alla dessa biljettpriser och totalpriset är 31655 kronor för oss fyra.
Det tycker jag inte är så illa med tanke på att vi ändå vid det laget tagit oss till andra sidan jorden, med ett antal stopp längs vägen.

Det fina med ovanstående flygresor är att de har bokats då och då under våren sommaren, och vi har försökt att betala dem utan att röra rese-sparkontot. Det blir liksom som att lura sig själv 🙂 Kontot växer (eftersom vi sparar där hela tiden) samtidigt som flygen bokas och betalas ”av sig självt” (hmm.. det kanske bara är jag som tycker det är SUPERSMART av mig att göra så. Alla andra kanske, med rätta, tänker ”men vadå, det är ju ändå samma pengar i slutänden”…)
Sen är det såklart en massa andra saker än resorna som kostar. Nu är det mycket boende som inte är bokat än, så där har jag ingen helhetskoll. Men jag skulle gissa att vi ligger på ett ungefärligt snittpris på runt 350 – 400 kronor per natt under de första tre månaderna.
En annan post som kostar en del är ju transport inom länderna. Här är vi rätt bra på att hålla nere kostnaderna och väljer gärna tåg eller buss som färdsätt.
Mat är såklart också en kostnad, men i alla fall under månaderna i Asien lär matkontot ändå vara lägre än hemma.
En annan ”resevana” vi har haft när vi varit borta längre tid är att vi ser till att ha en vardag även på resande fot.
Det är inte glass varje dag, inte öl och läsk till maten hela tiden, inte förrätt och dessert.
Det är lätt att tänka att ”det är ju så billigt” (särskilt i Asien) men är man borta länge gör det rätt stor skillnad om man beställer in extra vitlöksbröd till varenda måltid i flera månader.
Dessutom är det ju inte jättenyttigt att leva semester-gott liv med sötsaker/öl osv i nio månader… Så den vanan kommer vi definitivt att ta med oss även under denna resa.
Vatten till maten 🙂 (Thailand 2012)
Om jag skulle säga en budgetsumma VÄLDIGT mellan tummen och pekfingret så tänker jag 1700 kronor per dag. Då vet jag att vi kommer vara långt under det till exempel under vår månad på indonesiska (jättebilliga) ön Flores, men säkert högre ibland, till exempel i Nya Zeeland.
Om vi säger att vi är borta 270 dagar så ger det en budget på 459000 kronor.
Och det kan ju låta tokmycket när man säger det, men nu har vi lyckats spara ihop så att vi har detta och lite till. Och det är jag jättestolt över att vi har gjort. Det är mycket slit bakom, och det kommer det att vara in i det sista. Men vi har lyckats uppnå målet.
Sen har vi aldrig gått omkring under resorna och varit nitiska och räknat varenda dag vad vi har gjort över med. Jag tror att det funkar på grund av att vi har gjort det här några gånger nu och jag och Patrik är väldigt synkade i det här ”kostnadsmedvetna levernet”. Det är inget vi ens reflekterar särskilt mycket över.
Jag tänker mig att om vi har vår vanliga koll på utgifterna och sparkontot, så att det inte minskar alldeles för snabbt, så kommer det funka jättebra.
Sen är jag ganska säker på att vi kommer att göra en del ”utsvävningar”, dvs medvetna kraschningar av budgeten. För att det är något särskilt vi vill uppleva, någon utflykt vi verkligen vill göra och vad det nu kan vara.
En del utflykter kan ju också bli till jobb sen, i form av resereportage eller andra reportage, och då kommer det ju en inkomst också.
Pool – något vi ofta väljer bort. Dessa hotellpriser är ju ofta högre än de som inte har pool. Men ibland är det kul att bryta av med poolliv, och då njuter vi av det några dagar. Men som tur är vi trivs vi allra bäst i havet, alla fyra.
Man måste ju också väga in att vi inte har några kostnader hemma eftersom vi har sålt huset. Inga huslån eller andra lån, bilskatt, storhandlingar, ingen bensin!, inköp av vinterkläder och skor, elräkningar, fritidsavgift, tv-abonnemang, aktiviteter & utflykter i Sverige, medlemsavgifter, osv osv.
Om man börjar räkna så är det ganska mycket pengar som rullar iväg under nio månader i ens vanliga vardag.
Jag har tidigare skrivit ett inlägg på tema pengar, ”Hur har ni råd att resa jorden runt?”, och det som står där gäller verkligen, och även i mångt och mycket när vi är på resande fot.
Det kan nog verka ibland som vi spenderar en massa hela tiden, men det är ju också för att det vi skriver om här i bloggen, till exempel, är ju om det (enda) vi prioriterar att lägga pengar på: upplevelser (inklusive matupplevelser)
Men om vi skulle lägga till en kategori med rubriken ”Shopping” skulle det bli väldigt tomt på inlägg där… 🙂

Det hjälper en hel del att beräkna kostnader för kommande resor.

Jag ska läsa ikapp alla de tidigare inläggen som jag förstod att du har gjort under vintern/våren för att se vilka av alla mina frågeställningar du redan har skrivit om…
Jag och min (numera) man reste jordenrunt för ett rejält antal år sedan… Numera har vi tre barn och har valt att resa på ett mer anpassat sätt då vi inte har längtan efter att vara iväg fullt lika länge som ni planerar för. Våra tre resor vi har gjort med barnen till Singapore och Thailand har istället sträckt sig till mellan 4 och 6 veckor.
Din beskrivning av hur du planerar och förbereder dig inför resor känner jag igen mig väldigt mycket i. Jag förstår precis hur nöjd du känner dig av att ha kunnat betala flygbiljetterna med er normala månadsbudget och därmed kunnat hålla resekontot intakt. Det blir ju lite som när man handlar på rea – man har en känsla av att ha ”sparat” genom att inte betala fullt pris, eller i detta fallet ta av de pengar som från början var tänkta att användas till resan.
Jag är lite nyfiken på hur mycket ni tänker er att ha i budget för Nya Zeeland per dag i snitt ? Och gärna lite om vad ni räknar in för kostnader i den budgeten, för det har jag lärt mig att människor resonerar olika kring? Det finns en längtan tillbaka till Oceanien och jag känner att mina gamla prisuppgifter inte är så mycket att gå på i det fallet…
Jag undrar också ifall ni kommer att resa runt mycket eller hålla er lite stilla på ett fåtal platser på de resmål ni har valt?

Jättekul och häftigt att läsa om! Det krävs ju en del planering helt klart, men det är väl också en del av charmen – och något som faktiskt möjliggör det hela!
Själv spenderade jag just 10 000 sek under en helg i bara rese/boende-kostnader….. 2 personer, för en helg med hyrbil och två nätter på mediokra hotell – life in California är inte bästa budget-resmålet, särskilt inte under 4th of July-helgen 😉
Haha, nej det går att göra bättre och sämre val ur budgetsynpunkt, helt klart ? Men ibland är ju upplevelserna värda vissa utsvävningar! Låter som ett roligt resmål – särskilt under 4 juli-helgen! 🙂

Det här är visserligen bara halva jorden, och vi måste ju därifrån också… Men nöjd med priset so far!
Det är jättesvårt (men jätteintressant!) detta med kostnader för en resa. Vi har skrivit om vad vårt år utomlands kostade här:

En del reagerar med att det är dyrt och andra att det är billigt. Vi räknade ju in ALLA kostnader (och hade inga kostnader hemma), men det är inte säkert att man alltid tänker på hur dyrt det faktiskt är att leva, i vanliga fall också. Å andra sidan hade vi redan husbilen (och behövde inte hyra/köpa den) vilket förstås höll ner kostnaden rejält!

Ja, det är ju otroligt svårt detta med budget och pengar. Vad är ”dyrt”? I vems ögon och jämfört med vad…?

Får jag fråga vad ni bokar för flygbolag för att resa till/från Bali? Vi planerar en resa där vi tänkt att ett stopp mellan thailand och australien ska vara Bali, men har bara hittat extremdyra resor. Har hört att det är vanligt bland australiensare att resa till Bali så tänker att vi måste ha kollat med fel flygbolag.
Hej! Ja absolut, den biljetten är Jetstar, ett australiskt lågprisbolag. Mellanlandning i Sydney.
Den biljetten blev jämförelsevis väldigt billig, 9000 kr för fyra.
Jag brukar använda först sökmotorer som Skyscanner o Momondo och söka på hel månad. Men ett tips, ibland är det tomt i datumrutorna när man gör så, men ibland när man klickar på ett ”tomt datum” så finns det biljetter i alla fall
Men det var iallafall enormt bra pris på flygbiljetterna! Hej tur och retur Bali för samma pris 😉
