Vandring i Sagan om ringen-land

Det här blev (också) en så himla bra dag, och jag tror faktiskt jag är lite endorfinstinn fortfarande för egentligen borde jag sova men ville så gärna titta igenom Patriks bilder från dagen först…

Så det fick bli ett blogginlägg också!


Vi åkte idag till Tongariro national park, en timmes bilresa från Taupo (där vi bor i tre nätter) Nationalparken är känd för mycket, och inte minst att detta i mångt och mycket är Mordor i Sagan om ringen-filmerna.


Första snön vi sett på ett tag!! Dock på, enligt mig, behagligt avstånd… 

Jag är ingen Lord of the rings-kännare, tvärtom, men Patrik har koll och blev vår sagoberättare under vår åtta kilometer långa vandring. Blev spännande berättelser om Frodo och Gollum och allt möjligt.

Och även om man är helt ointresserad av Sagan om ringen så är detta en fantastisk plats för vandring ändå. Det finns leder i alla tänkbara längder och för alla nivåer.

En väldigt fin och speciell nationalpark.

Bara att åka bil genom detta landskap var häftigt. Här är förresten vår kära bil som nu har burit oss en månad över stora delar av Nordön.

Och sen åkte vi för andra kvällen i rad till ett jättehärligt ställe här i Taupo – Spa Thermal Park. Ett stort grönområde, och en plats där hett källvatten kommer rinnande ut i floden Waikato.

Så just där detta sker blandas det heta vattnet med flodens kallare, och det är en populär badplats för stans invånare. Unga, gamla, med picknick, musik och ofta i större sällskap som kom och gick medan timmarna gick. Både igår och idag på kvällarna har vi hängt & badat där i flera timmar.

Men nu SKA jag sova… 🙂

    1. 4000 islands i Laos!! Där trivdes vi verkligen. Och Luang Prabang – där finns det finaste vattenfall jag nånsin sett, och där kan man bada. Helt enormt.

För ungefär hundra år sedan (känns det som) var jag med min klass på Outdoor Pursuit Camp just i Tongariro NP och klättrade, sov i grottor, vandrade mm. Varför har jag inte åkt tillbaka sen dess kan jag ju undra när jag ser era foton…
